About the game
A fantasy quest where every answer is an attack
Emberwild Quest is a free educational fantasy RPG for grades K–5. A fog of forgetfulness is creeping over the land of Emberwild, and only a young hero can push it back — by answering questions. Explore four lands, battle creatures, win the four Lore Crystals, and face the Fog Wyrm itself.
The four lands
- Numberwood — math: counting, addition, subtraction, multiplication, and fractions, matched to your grade band.
- Wordmere — words: rhymes, spelling patterns, synonyms, antonyms, plurals, and past-tense verbs.
- Sparkpeak — science: animals, plants, weather, and how the world works.
- Compass Sands — geography: continents, oceans, landmarks, and reading a compass.
Each land has a Guardian who holds one of the four Lore Crystals. Earn all four crystals to open the way to the Fog Wyrm, the final challenge.
How it plays
- Choose your grade band — K–1, 2–3, or 4–5 — and the questions match it in every land.
- Answer to battle. A right answer strikes the creature; a wrong answer costs your hero a little health. Win battles to earn gold and XP and level up.
- Spend gold wisely. Healing potions and gear in the shop keep your hero standing through the longer quests.
- Saved on the device. Your hero, crystals, and progress are stored only on this device — no accounts, nothing sent anywhere.
For parents and teachers
- Four subjects in one adventure. The same hero carries progress across math, word, science, and geography lands, so a single session can mix subjects freely.
- Read-aloud help. Questions can be read aloud using the device’s own speech feature, for readers who are still growing.
- Gentle stakes. Running low on health just means retreating to rest and trying again — there is no way to lose the adventure.
- Free, always. No ads, no sign-up, nothing to buy.
