About the game
Reading practice, disguised as an adventure
Realm of Readers is a free reading game for grades K–5. Children read short fantasy stories, solve word challenges to open the path to the next scene, and collect treasures and creature friends along the way.
Two ways to play
- Choose a quest. Read a short story set in places like Lantern Woods and the Dragon Library. Challenges appear as you read, and answering them opens the path to the next scene.
- Practice reading skills. Short, focused rounds on one skill at a time — or a mixed round.
Skills it practices
- Phonics — rhyming words and beginning sounds
- Sight words — the words readers need to know on sight
- Vocabulary — new words met inside real stories
- Comprehension — questions about the story you just read
Built for growing readers
- Read-aloud help. Tap any word in a story to hear it, tap the speaker to hear the whole page, or turn on automatic reading in the backpack.
- A world that fills up. Earn gems for the Gem Shop, collect treasures, choose a hero cloak, and meet friends like Ember the dragon, Pip the fox, and Hoot the owl in the Creature Book.
- Gentle by design. No timers and no fail states — wrong answers simply invite another try, and finishing a quest earns stars.
- Saved on the device. Treasures, friends, and scores are stored on this device only, and progress can be erased anytime from the backpack.
